How do you deal with people that dive bomb and fly off? By this I mean they will ask you how you are but never ever reply back. Every few months you get the same message "Hey how you doing hows it going there" and that's it. They fly off into the sunset and any attempt to engage in a conversation is met with crickets.

Is it safe to assume this person is toxic or simply does not want to talk to you. If that is the case then why do they even bother at all? Power trip maybe?

I have the name of a v good psychologist if you need to get it all out? Where you based?

If expecting etiquette and politeness warrants a psychologist visit then boy is this planet in worse shape than I imagined.

It's very simple - after they have done it once or twice to you, just never reply back to them. Life is too short for social media drama.
Aw... That's too easy.

Every time this happens is an opertunity to properly mess with the person back.

If this happens to me, I would respond with a "hey how you doing, glad you back on your feet again *James told me all about your "episode". Anyways take care chat soon.

That is bound to have them respond with multiple Wtf you talking about. Which is your chance to ride off into the sunset and bask in the chaos that you've just left behind.

I answer with some variation of ''Hi, I'm good'' and then ask them ''How are things on your side?'' and immediately forget about it. You messaged me first, if you want to talk then talk.

As for the bold part, there is one person I know that I'd put in that bracket. Female and only ever talks to me when she ends relationships. Fortunately I wisened up to this and stopped torturing myself. Always the same thing. Months later; ''Hi, how are you?''. ''I'm good, how are you?''. ''We must catch up soon''. ''Sure, let me know when''. *Crickets*. Your rebound/shoulder to cry on is --> way.

When this happens in my DMs on Twitter, I assume it's a troll/scam artist and just ignore it.
