Moved recently and want to get dsl at home, 3G just isnt cutting it.

Is there a one stop shop solution out there? Is it possible to deal with only 1 company instead of telkom+isp? Can I order a line installation as well as my isp account through one company? I do not want to work through telkom unless I have to.

Hi dakeyras

Please drop me a PM with your account details and I could arrange for a consultant to contact you to explain the process. ;)

At the moment nobody comes close to Afrihost's bundled accounts.

We have bundles that cover most of the solution. If you PM me, I can answer more of you questions, but you can also check some of the threads in this category about our bundle solutions.

I honestly think the easiest, most simple one-stop way to get ADSL is to go with Telkoms Simple promotion. www.telkom.co.za/Simple

You pay a monthly fee for EVERYTHING - voice, dsl line, data. And it gets installed for you etc. I have friends who have gone this route and it really has been a breeze for them. They just fill in their details online, and Telkom calls them back. It was all installed and operational a week later.

If you go and talk to an ISP they will ask you if you have a voice line, if not then you'll have to go to Telkom first anyway. Once you have one, then you can talk to an ISP and they'll get a line done for you. You'll still have to get it set up yourself, there's no real easy way.

Take it from someone who has been with both Telkom & MWeb, Afrihost is your best option.

Nothing wrong with MWEB's service, pretty decent, but if you want to cancel it's quite a convoluted process. Afrihost is quick and easy.

The cancellation process is why I'll never get Mweb.

Thanks, this is exactly the type of solution I am looking for. I would have preferred not working through Telkom, but if I have to go through the process of installing a line through them, then I might as well do everything.

I already pay for a Afrihost account (unshaped) from quite some time ago that I never got around to cancelling so I will still be able to have the benefit of using Afrihost as my ISP.

I have never had a problem with Mweb either, and until recently I had an account through them as well.
