Oneplus 7T and 7T Pro

Have you updated yet? Also received the notification on my 7 Pro
I updated last night, went smoothly for me - its around 3-4gbs update. So far, no issues on my side...phone is running fine, all my apps seem to be working fine as well. This is the stable release, from my understanding there was a previous release that messed things up, it was pulled and released after it was fixed.

Funnily enough I upgraded my rooted 7t Pro last night as well.

Upgrade went surprisingly well. I'm always experiencing issues of some description, on account of root.

Phone feels good.

Hopefully the network issues are resolved. I was experiencing dropped connections regularly on mobile data on version F.17... Attributed it to root but apparently it was dodgy code. Who knew?!

I havent used my device alot since the update, but it does seem a bit more responsive, I noticed my notifications displaying seems to be working much better now, getting the notifications on time. The Shelf seems nice, though I inadvertently end up opening it up all the time instead of getting the notifications drop down.
Seems like a pretty decent update so far.

Interesting...i dont seem to see this on the 7 Pro on first glance, though i could be blind...i did see there is a separate section to configure screen recording. I don't recall seeing this previously, you can now set a ringtone per sim slot i.e. slot 1 can have a different ring tone to slot 2 as a default.

was yours the F.20 update?

For anyone interested, Vodacom is selling the 7T Pro for R6499 at their Vodaworld sale/clearence. I counted 7 sealed units on the display shelf.

After the recent update, device waking up from suspend mode to on screen display is very quick, and the face scan with the pop-up camera is even faster - end up unlocking my phone way too much accidentally now.

Yes, it's only at Vodaworld. Seems they're clearing old stock as there's a shelf in the middle of Vodaworld with a bunch of phones , Tablets and iPads marked down.

Anyone know where can I get a replacement battery for the 7 pro?
Don't see a reason to upgrade yet, still happy with this phone :)

been looking for a while. let us know if you find anything.

I think this might just be the reason this is my last OnePlus. Absolutely no after sales support.

Yeah I mean I am actually really happy with my 7TP.

However, they aren't easily available in SA and nobody has be able to source a replacement battery locally yet on here.

Feels like Samsung and Apple are the only viable options.

@sand_man tell me if you know but I root to remove bloatware, on say a Galaxy SXX and then unroot will I have any trouble with banking apps etc?

I'm using Zapper, Snapscan and Nedbank banking apps with root. No issues.

I've also bank with Standard bank but haven't loaded the app up on my phone. Works fine though, via Chrome.

Don't use Google Pay but I did try loading it up sometime ago on Android 10 and it gave me issues. I haven't tried since but it appears there solutions if one is prepared to jump through the hoops.
