Pastelmybusiness is very good. I used it for a month but their lack of an API (I need it to talk to my web applications) is a problem for me.
http://www.xero.com/ comes very highly rated.
Personally I use Freshbooks (www.freshbooks.com) due to the time-tracking feature and the ability for clients to log in and update their details / view invoices / accept quotes etc. online and their API - the problem with this system is that it is not a full accounting package; you can capture expenses and send out invoices and not much more. It does track VAT/Tax and give reporting but it does lack the ability to import bank statements and reconcile.
http://www.lessaccounting.com/ I used a while ago but am not 100% sure on how many features they have now but as far as I can gather it is like Freshbooks but a proper book-keeping package - potentially the best bet. I am well stuck-in to Freshbooks so a move is more time consuming than it's worth.

I've used Ping online accounts for a while now. All the systems i've looked at have their ups & downs. Some perform certain tasks really well but fall short in other areas, so its worth evaluating a few.
