Online conversion of prepaid airtime into a Smartdata bundle

I realise I can do this via internet banking but I have not found a way of purchasing a Smartdata bundle online via Cell C's website using prepaid airtime that has already been loaded.

I would use the 147 USSD menu if the SIM card was not in a router.

I have skimmed through the sticky threads and some of the old threads they link to.

Am I missing something?

If you register with CellC, then log on, you can do it on their website

If you are looking for 3GB/365 days R399, you can't. It was covered many times and is in the FAQ. Only available from Cell C stores, as a preloaded SIM or Smartdata voucher.

No, I want a normal data bundle that is valid for a month. I currently have an all in one bundle that is about to run out and I wanted to buy a data only bundle for use in my router.

Perhaps Cell C does not display an option for buying a new data bundle when another data bundle is still active.

Logical. But perhaps you mean there is still unused data on the bundle. I mention this, as your bundle is active for 30 days from purchasing. During this time your OOB is 15c/MB and virtually you don't need to buy another bundle. This apply for new 99c tariff of course.

I meant active in the sense that the all in one bundle has not expired and that there was data remaining: only the SMS quota remains and I don't know what to do with those.

There is still no option to purchase a new data bundle, I think I will have to resort to using the 147 USSD menu.

Now you talk about SMS quota, was it inclusive in contract? And data perhaps was also inclusive from contract? If so, you don't have active bundle of course, disregard what I wrote.

It's prepaid (the 99c for Real tariff plan) and I purchased one of the all in one bundles (airtime + SMS + data) using internet banking.

If this airtime conversion to data bundle functionality really is available to prepaid customers using Cell C's website, it would be great if someone could post directions (although I'm sure I have checked everywhere in "My Account").

You are correct asking this question. As I had already interfered in this thread, I have to say I don't really know if 15c/MB OOB applies to this offer, so it is unclear if my comment remain valid or not.

I prefer not to feed the OOB sharks: I only recharge with the exact amount of airtime credit required to purchase a bundle or purchase the bundle in one step via internet banking.

I ended up using the 147 USSD menu to convert airtime into a data bundle, that is fine for a cellphone but not for a router or tablet that doesn't really support USSD menus.
