Ok, been to 3 storage web based possies, but they no good, so before i spend all after noon searching out what i need, can someone suggest for me free storage online.

i kinda need min 1gig
need to be able to share the files with only family.
able to email docs to storage.
And, free of course.

i've tried, xdrive (wouldnt accept my details), box.net (not free lol) and 4shared.com (dont think they have the email upload thing), but none are good for me.

I doubt that you'll be able to get that for free. I'd be interested too if you do though.

I don't know what the limit is because out company filters the site but try http://www.box.net/ they are good. I think they have an app that you can install so you can drag and drop from your desktop into your storage account.

Ya, box.net arent free.

Xdrive had what i wanted but couldnt register.

hmmm, that looks interesting!

even if that tool is experimental, just use gmail and mail the stuff to yourself :P 5GB? NOICE!

Yes they are, for the lite package you get 1Gb free if I remember correctly. They do also offer a premium service which you pay for.

lol.

I'm not having any luck with sites today, others wont let me register wrong this wrong that. FS.

The link you have to box.net pricing plans shows no 1gig account. it shows 2, 5 and 15gig accounts only.

I wonder if it is some kind of IP filtering cause I am in the UK. I only have 1, 5 and 15

2nd Google docs. You can even edit them online, save them in different formats, invite people to edit them etc. I think it uses the space you have available for gmail, which is more then 1gb.

Data transfer "in" and "out" refers to transfer into and out of Amazon S3. Data transferred between Amazon EC2 and Amazon S3, is free of charge (i.e., $0.00 per GB), except data transferred between Amazon EC2 and Amazon S3-Europe, which will be charged at regular rates.

Storage and bandwidth size includes all file overhead.

(Amazon S3 is sold by Amazon Web Services LLC.)
Prices seem more than reasonable.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I remembered the topic and have now found this 123 Drive. 30Gb of free online storage.

Wont setting up a gmail account do all of that for you? Set it up and give the family the password?

Things have been known (reported) to go wrong with gmail from time to time.

Probably, but (touch wood) I've yet to have a problem, and it actually works out pretty well for me.
