Hello everyone!

So I am looking for advice.
I haven't been able to play the latest games due to my rig dying a slow death over the past 3 years,
So even though I enjoy it, I have been limited to Dota 2 on VERY low res.

Fast forward to today, I've just build myself quiet a nice gaming rig and want to get back into gaming, but I don't want to waste money on buying a dying game ( like that month sub to Wow I did )

I enjoy online multiplayer. I really enjoyed Call Of Duty MW2 as its fast paced quick rounds and in its day looked pretty good.

So I am here to ask for suggestions for games to look at, I think Battlefield 1 is one of the latest titles out, but what is popular on SA servers at the moment?

has COD died out?
Overwatch?

Overwatch would be a good buy because it will be played for a very long time. My problem with CoD and BF is that there is a new one every year and then the old ones die off.

playerunknown's battlegrounds is pretty good.
Its in early access, and there's no SA servers, however if you have a ping of 150 or lower, the netcode reduces most lag

Feel exactly the same way, thats why I dont want to go and buy BF1

If you want to play one of the hardest, most brutal, most unfair.... but without a doubt the most insane MMO, have a look at Archeage. Its almost the most P2W game out there, so if you want to become elite, you will either have to sink time or be an oil shiek. Since I am a potatoe and I like crafting, I dont care about the p2w aspect. This game is not wow. Wow is for children and people who like to play fair and wear safety clothing. In Archeage, you can lose a fortune, you can steal a fortune, you can destroy an empire.... or you can be like me. See how high up a tower you can harpoon your ship up to. Its a sandbox world. I play Black Desert Online and Revelations (neither free), and I keep going back to Archeage. I wont be going back to wow... its just way too....... last decade for me. Too limited and relies on blizzard for content. Archeage is also a game with a lot of mystery and which has no masters (ie, you cant master all the content, its just too complex)

If you want a fun quick game, (as MMO`s are endless by nature), have a look at Atlas Reactor. A surprisingly good game. If you like DOTA, but have lag issues, then the way this games style is structured, will appeal to you

Overwatch is still popular and they're adding characters (for free) every couple months, I play it every night. It also has the quick rounds that COD has but with a whole heap load more thinking.

BF1 died for me when the DLC's were released.

Robocraft: F2P but you either gonna love it or hate it and no SA servers only the UK ones.

ARK survival evolved: For a new pc its visually beautiful, there are still plenty of players on SA or other servers. Personally I could not get into the game but I have friends that have been playing it 24/7 since it's launch.

Path of exile: F2P Still has a huge amount of people online and every season it picks up for awhile, not a pretty game but fun.

Counter-Strike Global Offensive: I cant believe how many people still play this

What happened with WoW out of curiosity.

+1 for Overwatch. Level 92 and still very addicted. It's just so polished. Blizzard outdid themselves.

CS surprised me too

For me Wow just lost its magic,

It was epic as it was the first real MMO and as a Warcraft 3 player it brought the game alive with professions and traveling.

Going back to it, its liked they watered down the whole experience, its just about grinding out level and gear, and feel like I spent more time working in the game than enjoying the content.

Out of Interest, whats the Latency like for Overwatch, as I see no SA servers?

Actually not a bad suggestion, seeing that it's free to play :)

Oh yes, the game is actually excellent and the match time cycle fits well with any gamer that can only spare short bursts, 10 mins on avg.

I ran because the OverWatch crowd can be quite....rampant.
