Lets see .. a RAW image @ around 20Mb + 120 pix off my last mem card. Bandwidth usage for up- and download.
I just got off the 3G bandwagon but there's no way I'll do it online if I only had 3G.

I dont know about an online version but I have the offline version AND PS CS4 and still use gimp as a first choice for pure photo editing.

I have to agree. Having first learned to use GIMP, I find Gimp much easier to use the PS. I guess it comes down to what your are used to.

For free photo editing software, GIMP is the way to go!!

we need to distinguish between users here:

- novice
- semi-pro
- pro

if you're looking to just open, adjust colour, retouch a bit and resize, it's great.
but it's nowhere close to ps unfortunately at design / image compositing or pro photo use.

for home users, gimp is great value for money and online tools will improve in future for low-res work. competition is a good thing and can only help to lower prices.
