Online shopping done wrong

Where would you buy "Boardmans 2 division kitchen storage" from?

My guess is boardmans.

They recently launched online and were terribly unprofessional when i tried to buy a lodge cast iron pot late last year.

ABU got in first :)

Adding my 2 cents worth Takealot once messed up my order and gave me a high price item valued at over R3000+ quickly phoned them to come and collect the item. I am honest cos surely the person who purchased the item received my goodies instead..

There are only 2 females working at mybb

Delivery is still easy. Test a warranty/returns process instead and you will be able you see the true heroes in ecommerce.

One of the local shoe online retailers has a 40% returns rate. Sadly must returns are fraudulent i.e. Get shoes delivered to wear for the weekend out and then return for a refund on Monday.

They are also ridiculously over priced.

The biggest problem in SA online retailers are price, I think in the US and UK they can drop prices like crazy becouse the keep fewer staff compaired to there retail counterparts , over here the staff doesnt cost so much.

That and I think there is no real motivation for anyone to have cheaper online shops compaired to retail, makro is a good example of this :/

Not true.

Bricks and mortar stores have pricing parity between online and their traditional stores. Online stores are NOT necessarily cheaper to run.

Not too surprised Boardmans messed up the order - they're rubbish in store too

Shops like these generally mess up their brick and mortar sales too so it's not really an online issue.

They are also ridiculously over priced.

They charge standard retail prices, i.e. no discounting.

OTOH all prices include courier fees, even when the cost of the courier fees is higher than the cost of the item ordered.

They're cheaper to run if there's no brick and mortar shop.

Woolworths online is just as bad. Ordered a Xmas gift for someone in Dec but it never got delivered. I only found out after speaking to the person weeks later in January. Not a word from Woolworths. No emails stating non delivery etc, no communication. Then I literally had to beg them to refund me. After almost a month later a refund finally went through a day or 2 ago.
