I would like to create a small online shop, approximately 15 to 20 products initially.

I nice clean template plus hosting and payments network will be needed.

An approximate cost of this will be?

Good places that will host? templates? and domain registrations?

If you have a large margin to work with, Shopify + Payfast is very nice.

https://www.godaddy.com/websites/online-store starts the same pricing as bigcommerce

You also have the option of a Pretashop hosted solution.
It'll be more work to setup but a lot cheaper.

A2hosting offer a 1 click preta-shop setup and it's about $27 cheaper than either of the above

Pretashop is extremely customizable and there are plugins and themes available

If you value your online business you won't use godaddy, not even for domain registration

Personally Id give BigCommerc a pass. I'm not even sure there's any SA payment gateways that actually support it. Shopify (+PayFast) would be the better option if going that route.

Otherwise WooCommerce + Premium Theme (Themeforest) + PayFast/any other payment gateway is a very affordable & reliable option.

I would love to get an explanation as to why you say that? Their integrated product offering is far above anything else on the market.

They will sell your domain right under your nose. Scum business that. I don't trust them one bit.
