Hi there i wonder if any one could help me, i have a laptop with a built in 3g, hsdpa modem its a globetrotter module hsdpa modem for some reason it only seems to get gprs signal or thats the only option it gives me to connect to!! it connects to the 3g connection vista set up but i also only get gprs speeds.. im using the vodafone mobile 9.2 software.
if i connect using a 3g card in another laptop it picks up 3g perfectly so i know the 3g coverage is fine!!
its a fujitsu siemens esprimo mobile v5555 laptop
does anybody have any ideas, suggestions for me?
muchly appreciated

There is a newer version of VMC on the vodacom site you could try that. Not sure about the FS notebooks, but a number of forumites had issues with the Dell embedded 3G chips where the antenna connectors became dislodged. A Dell technician would generally sort that out on-site if they could not talk the user through the procedure on the phone.

Once downloaded go to > manage devices > you modem name should be displayed on the riget > click on it > click edit > and choose 3G only.
