Only One Word for Telkom

At least they will give you a service... try open an account, going into the store and placing my wallet on the counter was still the wrong approach

I almost feel sorry for the store people. They're stuck with the same worthless Telkom processes that the rest of us are stuck with. I went in there to get a prepaid 3G data + MiFi and it took an hour for them to realise they couldn't supply it.

They have to check two different slow systems to figure out coverage.
They don't have a nice central list of services offered, so they have to scrounge through regular marketing materials looking for the codes to work out how to activate the product, or look for emails from senior people who will have mentioned that particular product.
They don't have any kind of stock control tied to the products, so they have to scrounge in the back looking at different devices trying to figure out if it's the right one to sell.
And then if I leave, they're a telecommunications company with a store that you can't call, because after five rings it goes to voicemail with a full mailbox.

I have the same issues with their call center when complaining about ADSL and line things, where it requires them to look in multiple slow systems that lack the right information, can't properly distinguish similarly named roads, and just cripple the ability for any of their staff to give a decent response.

I don't know what position it is in Telkom that deals with setting up systems and their general information management, but that guy/girl needs to get their **** together.

oh well. guess this will be a free post count thread.
