Do you know if it is coming to Onrus soon?My parents are in Vermont and got fibre in Jan.
I realise that this is an old thread. Have there been any improvements or changes in Broadband connections available in Onrus? I am moving into a property in Chiappini Street, Onrus shortly and would appreciate some advice on which provider to choose. Ideally I would like to be able to use my Netflix subscription for streaming in HD.
Coverage map only shows fiber in Vermont.Do you know if it is coming to Onrus soon?
They switched me over while on the phone, was instant (with router reset).I'm in Vermont and have just today got Telkom to enable 20 Mbps VDSL. No fibre as far into Vermont as I am unfortunately.
I got my log in details by sms and set up he VDSL modem this afternoon. It shows the line as 20 Mbps and a speedtest returned at 17 Mbps so I'm pretty pleased.
So at the moment I'm connected to an ADSL profile on the modem as Telkom said it will take up to 24 hours to switch over to VDSL after I called them and asked them to flick the switch. This was about 4 hours ago and the VDSL profile still shows status as 'down'.
Can anyone confirm the time difference it takes as told to me by Telkom?

I have to say, I was and am pretty sceptical about the 24 hour thing. I’ll reset the modem and see what happens.
I’m glad you read this, I was going to point you towards it anyway but wanted to give you an idea what’s going on in the area.
You must be close to the exchange which makes a big difference. In Wescliff I only had 6 Mbps, which is ok but not great. I'm fine with 10 Mbps, got 13 Mbps VDSL atm.
So that Vermont fiber map is BS?
hello old thread..
can anyone tell me if it is worthwhile getting adsl in Onrus? I've tried the wisps, too much throttling during peak hours at night..
It used to show 2mbps on Telkom coverage map for my address, but it now shows 10mbps.. (10mbps sounds like heaven I swear)
Worth a shot to go through order, install etc?
Don't trust the coverage map, go into Telkom and ask for the fastest speed they have. I'm in Vermont and have 20Mbps VDSL on a quiet street so I'd imagine you might have similar if not better.
