Onspeed

Have used Onspeed for two years to enhance my GPRS connection, essentially it pre compresses pictures in web page to a degree that you can set from full comp to normal. I normally run at full comp and if I want to enhance a pic just change setting in flight and refresh page. Very little benefit if you are downloading already compressed files but good for browsing.
 
Given that Google is like the Microshaft of search, does this give them even more power?

how do they make it pay? Are they collecting data on your surfing habbits to target more adverts when you search?
 
I have tried this Google accelerater and after 15 minutes the conclusion I came to is there is no difference, but it might reduce the bandwidth used, so I am going to keep it.

It might not seem any faster to me because I am actually connected to Vodacom this evening, ussually I use MTN, but there is no signal this evening.
 
Zerofocus, I tried the program and after surfing for about 2 hours it saved me 3minutes. I changed preferances to dial up as i am running my computer through my cell (am connecting via MTN). I surf with pictures, sounds and vidios disabled to save time(right click if needed). Am using internet explorer with program. Are you getting the same results, if not how do i make it better?:p

It gets better the more you use it. Like for instance, the forum opens up like lightning for me. It seems like decent broadband, even though im having crap with 3G. Stick to it for a few days and see what you think. I must admit this doesnt help that much for new sites, mostly for the ones you visit most often.

I went onto the site but I see there's no trial version of onspeed, any idea where I can get myself with a copy of it to try out?

None at all data dude.I dont think you could use a copy even if you got one, it looks like it has to run through there servers-sucks hey, but if you find a way pls let me know.
Try to PM davecyncots he is using the service at the moment.:)
