Ok....so then seeing the Iphone dont give proper reports like android...please install Onavo Count soon as you can. This will help track down what app or system process is causing this behaviour. It should also be possible to set a limit...so if you have 500meg...set it to kill your data once 100 is reached or something so you can check what app is doing it and remove it from your phone.

Thanks, I'm busy looking for this in the App Store. I guess I'll need to monitor next month and report back.

And in the meanwhile sacrifice another bundle. And then pay for another bolt-on just to use the phone properly.

Didn't he say it was already implemented..? You just had to pick the correct package/bundle..?

Of the thousand bundles they confuse you with, I wouldn't have the foggiest which one it is if I had to go into a store and pick it. But yes, once again it is the customer's fault for not selecting that package. You either pick that package or shutup and pay if the OOB shark gets you...

Jannie did confirm that he will make IB=OOB. I wonder when he will implement it?

Well they've been working on an OOB shark solution for more than ten years now.

The pessimist in me says they won't do this across the board - they'll add new convoluted, non-standard packages that only 6 people know about...

Sure so what he was saying essentially is that they've already sorted that problem out as far as they're concerned. As long as you pick the correct package then you are sorted. I guess he was talking about the broadband advanced option where IB=OOB although the bundle itself costs more compared to the normal broadband standard bundles.

Yes, as far as they are concerned, they provide you with the tools and it is your choice when you go OOB. Now go ask members of your family and your friends whether they know the difference between broadband standard and broadband advanced. They're the average Joe that Vodacom are really robbing with the OOB shark.

They don't even know what it is they're querying when they get nailed with the OOB shark. They're simply told that it is data and they need to monitor their usage better...

Indeed. Well I'll be moving my contract with them soon. I was hoping for some better data prices at least to try and compete with Cell C but I over it now. They're not interested so why should I be....

Moving your contract away from them, you mean?

This is clearly a problem vodacom does not intend to solve, since its not a problem for them. We've had loads of these threads with zero action taken.

OP: You will unfortunately have to pay the bill, try to be vigilant next time. Companies don't care.
