OPEL ASTRA AIR CON NO LONGER FUNCTIONING

Hi, I have opel astra 2008 model. Idle goes up every time I switch the aircon on and some it remains high at 2rpm. I am not sure whether the aircon has issues or not but every time I use it I have to open windows to let dust smell out for about two to four minutes then I close them.
 
Is that a 1.4 Essentia, 1.6 Twinport or 1.8 Enjoy? I know the control unit of the aircon can fail on the Astra H but in your case is sounds like the compressor is dodgy and putting a lot of stress on the engine. Best to have Bosch or a good auto electrician check it out for you.
 
How the mighty have fallen. Can't even get from joburg to Cape Town with aircon any more.

Any idea where exactly this pressure switch is located? I also want to bridge it in one of our fleet vehicles? Better yet where is the control unit so I can just bridge it at the terminals?
