Hi guys.
My 2001 Opel astra is having tooo much water pressure that it some times takes of the coolant Horse.
I ahve taken out the thermostart but the problem continues.

Can some one please help

air in your system maybe?
Check all pipes and their fasteners. You might need to check for leaks when the engine is hot.

I had a expansion tank that leaked as-well as a pipe that was leaking.

I had a similar problem--sorted it out by changing just the radiator cap.
also please replace your thermostat--it is an important item to regulate temperature

My astra a 2000 model had a head gasket that started to leak between pressure chamber and the water line,
Symtoms... uneven idling, water disappearing, high pressures in the cooling system.
And water seeping into the compression chamber, so some mornings the battery/starter failed turn the engine.

After I figured out the problem I had a system for the short term for dealing with the problem.
After running the engine I would leave it for half an hour, release the pressure and top up the water.
Eventually it got very bad and the cost to fix the problem was about R4400, replaced the gasket. She now has 290 000km on the clock

@FAZDA lOL @ but any way thank guys I'll check the radiator cap as last time I took my car for service n it came back with different cap I suspect they swap it for their own reasons

Check that the fuel line to the engine did not damage the coolant pipe - I had this problem a few years ago on my 2001 Astra :

Its amazing THAT with the change of only radiator Cap for R40-00 at Gold Wagen it has solved my problem...............THANKS A LOT GUSYS KEEP IT-UP

Lucky you :)
When I fixed that hose of mine it cost me R8k, although it did include a 150,000km cambelt service and water pump replacement.

Odd behaviour, what connection could there be between the gearbox and the engine temp, by gears stuck meaning you can't change gears?

Huh this doesn't make any sense at all. There is no link between shifting gears and the heat gauge.
The engine cools down when you drive on the open road because it gets more air.
The gearlinks sometimes wear a bit over time. Make sure that they are clean and in an okay condition. Then after that it could maybe be the clutch. Hopefully you don't have a gearbox problem.

Yep, I cant get gears,i have to switch car off and put in gear and then start,it happens mostly when im stuck in traffic,i had the clutch kit replaced recently

Yep I cnt change gears,i have to switch car off and then put in gear and start then still very difficult to change gears, could the clutch cable be faulty

Take it back to who ever replaced the clutch they did a shìt job.
Does the clutch work? Can you have the clutch press in when in gear and stand still idling? Then does it release properly when you pull away?

I would go with when they changed you clutch they didn't reconnect the gear links properly.
