Seems like the starter solenoid to me, did you have that replaced as well?

Don't know what else could cause that problem.

Check the battery earth straps, battery to body and body to engine - remove, inspect, clean, replace if necessary.

Had this problem with my 1st car .... if I can remember correctly the only thing I did was to replace the battery with a higher amperage...maybe your battery is fine but just a tad too weak? Also maybe you will find the car starts a bit easier when your foot is not on the break/radio is off/fans and AC off before turning the engine.

Usually the bendix with those symptoms. Those new starters you keep fitting in there?

my astra is in my garage and on Monday will have to push start it to go and replace the starter. 3 years ago I choose the cheap starter from Midas which cannot be service. fitting a Bosch on Monday. One cell on my battery were dead for 2 months, it starts, but turning the starter slowly.

Do I need a mixit dictionary to decipher what you are saying?

If you've changed the starter three times and you still have the same problem, then it's definitely not the starter.

Does this happen randomly or only when the engine is hot or cold?

Have you tried starting the car with the AC and fan switched off? I have the same car and about once every 6 months it just won't start, this is always when the AC is switched on so switch it off and try starting again. The AC has an electric clutch that engages/disengages it and this can be finicky at times.

Not with the OP's symptoms. I bet my ass its the starter bendix.

I have a Vauxhall Astra (mid 1990's), fuel injected petrol engine, 1800cc, which will not start. My mechanic has checked the spark plugs (all new and working), the fuel pump, the distributor, the cabling, the rotor, the timing and associated belt, and replaced the sensor for the timing of the fuel injector/air intake. The battery is good (less than 6 months old), and the starter and all associated wiring is tested and is ok. There is electricity coming to cylinders 1 and 4 but no electricity going to cylinders 2 and 3. The mechanic now has had the car for 6 days and does not appear to know what is wrong. What can be done to repair this problem?

My Vauxhall Astra G is only cranking but not starting, power is not getting to injectors, what might be causes?

Sounds like coilpack indeed. Make sure the key has the right transponder in. The Astra G sends the transponder code to the engine and it only starts if they key is correct for the engine.
