not really if the courtesy car has a 30K excess for accident or theft like most of them do.

I have never seen an excess over R5000 on a courtesy vehicle.

Usually R2500.

It's part of my Mutual and Federal policy. Covers a courtesy car up to the value of your own vehicle.

Was about to say that in post above that in most cases a courtesy vehicle is covered up to the value of your own.

Often even if you drive a friend's vehicle etc.

I get a courtesy vehicle for Mazda when my car gets serviced*, but they don't carry insurance, the customer needs to. I was pleasantly surprised to find out I was already covered when I contacted my broker.



*Did you see that, Mercedes, BMW, VW, Opel? Mazda gives me a courtesy vehicle. Where do you think I'll be shopping for a new one when this one needs replacing?
