Open letter to MWEB: (Please read)

Klim asseblief in die boks.....

Make it snappy! :)

I just took the plunge

Signed up with Axxess until the end of the month - we'll see how that goes - if all goes well, then @375 for 4meg uncapped I'm on to a winner.

Can't pick this up from the Axxess website - Are their ADSL Uncapped accounts throttled at all?

I can imagine that certain traffic would be shaped (during business hours anyway) but I'd be hard-pressed not to close down my Mweb account and sign up with Axxess if the speeds are decent and thery don't throttle the living daylights out of everything.

In response to a PM from someone asking me to help out, if you're struggling to find out where to upgrade to the R29 service,

http://www.mweb.co.za/productspricing/2/Home/adsl3g/CappedAdsl.aspx

then click on "Signup"

Under "Existing Customer", fill in the same details you use to access your MWeb email, and you should be able to find your way from there.

Cheers

Yeah, the point is that @ R29 a month I'm never going to login to the MWeb network - ie those details won't go into my router - I'm paying the R29 to preserve my email and also to keep my options open if the MWEb network (and pricing) ever recovers 'cos I have actually been pretty happy with the service for many years. It's just the latest debacle (and, admittedly, the last few months of crappy YouTube) that has me trying out the others.

Going the same route, cancelled my MWEB uncapped subsription yesterday. It was hard to pull the trigger, but it has been coming for a while.

I tried that but for some reason I can only upgrade to 10Mbps, are you sure it isn't just going to charge you the extra R29 with the other account?

I actually did this by emailing them and asking them to "downgrade" me. I was expecting this to happen a calendar month later, turns out, 2 days later when the new month started, i was on 1GB. Let's just say i had to scramble to find uncapped again.
