I have reached a point where I have to complain!

Eversince I started using Openbrowse I had the occasional problem but lately I have either A) had no connectivity at all OR B)It's so slow that is completely unusable!(sites timeout ect.)

Secondly I have never abused the proxy (ie. I only use it for browsing) but sites take an eternity to load and I am on 192k package, and to me the speeds seem more like 8kbps or less.

Is there something I am doing wrong with regards to the proxy or are others also experiencing this problem?

I am seriously at the point of thinking about moving back to saix! I'm completely unable to browse overseas websites at this point, which is exactly why I opted for openbrowse but it's reliability is becoming a problem.

Is it temporary? Or should I just cancel now and get it over with?

been like that for ages for me as well. is it maybe because of where we live? where you at gnome? also, is it possible to phone MrBEEP?

any case, this month will be the final trial for us (three people using it). last night i couldnt even open www.openweb.co.za through the proxy

I am in the Pretoria, Brooklyn area.

But I can't see how that might be a problem. Local sites work just fine.

Edit: I don't even feel like phoning at this point. I just feel like moving somewhere else.... There seems to be more downtime than uptime for me.

Hey Friends,

I am very sorry about the downtime. We did have a few days where we experienced problems, but I wasn't aware it was an ongoing thing.

We are busy installing new servers which will defenitely help the redundancy.

I am terribly sorry about this. Please PM me, and I will arrange a full refund of your OpenBrowse portion.

Kind Regards
MrBEEP

English please, or Afrikaans if you wish, but please dont start to worn others - that will be very bad for you and them...
It seems you should "come right" or left or whatever that means...

Aikona; i was not threatening - only complaining then only when my browser refreshed i saw 'MrBeeps' reply.

Was just joking/correcting - I'm sure you meant to "warn" him - To "worn" him might be bit uncomfortable.

i doubt if the actual cause is OpenBrowse/OpenWeb

I'm sitting on a VSat conn from our one and only Telkom (bosses farm) and i have estimated 80% timeouts on international sites and i'd say 50% odd for local sites.

Summin is VERY wrong somehwere if i look at all the other posts.

Really sucks

well, very view things seem to work... its a new month... lets see what happens this time. 1 month bad can be forgotten if you have a good month

I am with Axxess at the moment and international is perfect. Use it , dont use it.

Yes till axxess decides that you are too close to your cap and they disconnect you every 15 minutes. Sorry I've been with axxess and got the scars to proof it, am very happy at openweb
