OpenBrowse Without OpenWeb?

No not really, but from your previous post you said that one can do it yourself?

In essence this is how it works (I guess). They have an international connection there at OpenWeb HQ or where ever. They run a proxy application that allows your PC to dial in and have access to their international line. They just throttle the speed depending on what account you have. That's how I see it. It's a tad more complicated in reality.

So you can do it yourself - would be rather useless though. :p

You will need some account at them first - Like a 10GB OpenWeb IS account or something.

...and limit what you are allowed to do on that "line" ie browsing only and not downloads, FTP, VOIP etc etc

So there is no way to do it other than OpenWeb?

May I ask why you seem reluctant to go with OpenWeb? As far as I am aware their local access is the cheapest per Gb currently.

EDIT : Keoma please send my commission cheque in the mail!!! :) ha ha

It's not that, I just don't want to pay for the openbrowse.... Looking at the 5gig SAIX option but with openbrowse then it becomes a bit expensive.... Besides, isn't telkom implementing that soft cap average user thing again?

It's daddy's account, he's not allowed to change to openweb... :p

Just kidding. :D
