Openelec 2.99.5 download...?

Okay so I switched downloads to automatic, powered off and on again and now it appears to be hanging at the part where it shows 'SYSLINUX 4.05 EDD" etc when it starts up.

Is this how it updates? :wtf:

Or is something else now wrong? I don't see the HDD nor the network lights flashing as if they're doing anything...

Did you remove your asound.conf file? Think you need to do that first :/

Yeah, did that. But 1) there is no update folder on my machine and 2) creating one doesn't help oh and 3) their forums are useless.

Okay no longer stuck - had to reboot once more and it works fine. But the machine still doesn't pick up that there's an update for it.

Perhaps I should just install 2.99.5 on a spare HDD in the machine? I've got a spare 100gig drive in there that's not being used. That way I can maintain both installations and test them both out without running a dual-boot environment. I can just set it from the BIOS in the HDD priority section, right?

I don't have an update folder. If I start removing the .xbmc and .config files, I fear I am going to be left with a borked machine and have to reinstall openelec...

You will and able to set up port forwarding on your router so I can SSH in? I'll fix your samba stuff for you...

Just a word of warning when updating. If you are using the watchdog add-on, disable it otherwise your machine might not be able to shutdown or reboot.

my silly mahcine only wants to work with v1. any other version and i get a blankscreen
