OpenOffice on SME server

Quite nice - install the portable version of OpenOffice for Windows on your SME server, and (if you configure it as a domain controller) enable everybody to have access to OpenOffice applications without the need to install it on individual PC's.

That makes for some serious time saving I would recon!

Instead of upgrading 20+ PC's you now can only update one server every time.

What load is server carrying when a PC requests OO?

Haven't tested it yet, but going to install OO on mine and see what happens.

As for the OO version, it's v2.4 and not the latest version.

Although you can use that as a framework to get started

Got the hardware at last to set up a new server for testing.

Will test over the weekend and will report back.
