Does anybody know where to download the software? A friend of mine has Openbrowse, but he downloaded the link on another PC and needs to install it on a different PC.

Thanks

Was wondering about that? On my 2-28GIG webafrica, I'm well over my 2GIG international, but still seem to download stuff from .com sites at very very slow speeds. (thought it was totally blocked)

# NEVER Works with ONLINE GAMES
# NEVER Works with MY EMAIL
# THEY BLOCK some websites
OpenBrowse is a browsing-only product. As such, it does not work with online games or POP3. We block certain websites which are often associated with downloads in order to ensure a decent quality of service. I'm not sure when you last tried OpenBrowse, but the network has been upgraded and is generally alot faster than in the past.

OpenBrowse is a much cheaper option thank RouteSentry as you can use up to 30GBs of browsing, for less thank R75 a month.

Well, in my own experience with OpenBrowse, it is pretty unreliable.
MSN "freezes", not the program, but simply "stays" online, yet none of your contacts can see you. That's IF you can sign in.
Most sites don't load completely, if at all. Nor do you ever get the full speed advertised. You'd be lucky to get 1kb/s.
They even block Minitokyo =((

Sorry OpenWeb, I'm dearly disappointed in Openbrowse =\

Well like Equintox said, it's a browsing only alternative after reaching your cap. I'd say it's a very cool program for making your internation browsing available after cap ever your local account.

Well, I never said it wasn't a good idea. The problem is, it's a good idea that almost always has problems.

I'll have to agree with you there, but I don't know about the problems. I'm not a Openbrowse user. Only have the local only adsl. Only thing keeping me from using it is the MSN and google talk bit.

Then why is there a MSN specific proxy?

I'm using it at this very moment and it SUCKS

I would rather pay more for something that actually works and is more efficient...

OpenBrowse has never worked as it was advertised to work, and nothing has been done about it. There has been no update for several months, and it is pathetic.

Agreed. I rather pay R70 at WebAfrica now and use RouteSentry. The extra amount I pay for OpenBrowse is just not worth it.
