Hi guys,

Anyone know the best way to move an OpenServe fibre line from one ISP to another? My line seems to still be running but who knows where it actually is company wise. Tried to move from Afrihost to Mweb but then cancelled because they took too long only to have Vox take even longer. Everyone says they're waiting on Telkom, but in the meantime I am up and running with AfriGreen login details?

I am so confused.

If you are with OpenServe it is highly likely that you've signed a 12/24 month contract and will not be able to move. I tried moving a link back in October and I was told because my account was renewed in June I have to wait for the contract to play out, or face massive penalties.

I agree, OpenServe is BS and you should move! Because OpenServe is a division of Telkom, it won't be easy to 'just switch over'

Yes, even so he will need to contact Telkom directly to release the line first. Telkom/OpenServe locks in ISPs and will not release lines due to contractual agreements with the ISP. I've tried moving my Mweb line across infrastructures and it was possible but I had to pay a hefty penalty fee.

Once the line have been released by Telkom then the ISP can jump in to setup their Fiber service. For the line to be released by Telkom takes up to 2 months sadly...

Line was supposedly released by Afrihost to the "free pool" the same day.
I'm only getting the excuse that OpenServe is on holiday still to this day.
Now it's supposedly next week that they're "back."
