Hey guys, so I am moving into a new place that already had openserve fibre, so the ONT box is installed, openserve just has to bring me the modem. Will it be possible to install without power as our power is not on yet? My previous move was the same where they come out for 2 minutes and just plug in the modem, but I'm really unsure if they can just set it up as it is preconfigured and then obviously just activate it when the power is on. Really doubt it but just wanted to ask on here if anyone has had a similar experience?

If the ONT is missing then it's a new install. It would be hard for them to see if the line is fine if the ONT is not powered. Would be ideal if you can use like a temporary backup battery just to test that the line is up and working.

If you can, borrow a UPS from a friend to test it when they're there.

Openserve doesn't provide routers (or "modems" as you call it). You either have to buy one yourself or get one from your ISP.

The openserve technician came with an inverter and helped me out in 20minutes, great service from them!
Any detail on the inverter he is using for installations?
Bright guy that one, pretty sure it is not standard installation kit, although it should be.

Openserve do offer a router, router setup and wifi extenders as an extra service. ISPs don't use it because it's expensive and Telkom branded.
And rubbish routers, no manuals, incredibly bad support, and very tricky to work through the setups.
