Here you are local speed test, downloaded a 2.2Gb movie yesterday in around 9 minutes so quite happy. Netflix streaming at 4k although I cannot see the difference think at my age my eyes can only see in 720P:)

@Treschen Did you get Sub Zero 100/50 @R1499/m ?

@PBCool Has Cool Ideas a FUP in combination with Openserve, like Webafrica?

Is it a no contract deal that can be suspended ? This because I live overseas 6 months a year....

Cool Ideas has NO FUP whatsoever in combination with Openserve or any of their packages :)

It's month-to-month (according to my knowledge as I didn't sign any contracts when I signed up). Don't know if it can be suspended. Best would be is to send @PBCool a PM and ask.

I wanna go for 20/10 @R999 @cool ideas
Seems a bit more expensive than Webafrica @819 but Webafrica uncapped is not uncapped , it has a fupping treshold of 200 Gb

What's your usage at? You can get an Afrihost line with a tiny cap, or get an ISPAfrika line (you'll need to mail them and ask), depending on costs, and then add an DSL capped account on top.
Currently I am using a 300GB cap on a 100/50Mbps line for R1050.
Haven't had line issues since install a year ago, only thing is the occasional Vox slowdown when they had problems.
CoolIdeas is great though.

I'm looking at going this route when I move next month. I'm looking at using ISPafrika @R725 pm for the 100meg line and 10gb and then a R299 400gb capped account from vox. How has this been working for you? Did you use ISPafrika or afrihost for the line+small cap?

Trust me you get what you pay for. I looked at all other ISPs and researched a ton about them. Webafrica FUP sucks also numerous complaints about their support from my friends. I went with CISP because of all the positive ratings here and also they have no FUP no shaping no throttling etc. I have my line for 9 days already used 210Gig.

Wanted to go with Cybersmart but they have a 900GB FUP after which the start throttling your peer to peer traffic.

Not regrets so far
