Hi Guys

Recently got openserve fibre in our Estate, we were told as it is a new install residents won't have to wait 2 - 3 weeks to install at most it would take 2 days.

My first choice was Cool Ideas however they had my application Since last week Monday I gave them go ahead to proceed on Tuesday and phoned in as well telling them to submit. Friday I called in to see what's happening and wow application was not submitted naturally frustrated as a customer who was willing to pay their premium price I told them to cancel my order. NOT SO COOL

My second choice was Crystal Web however its seems that their openserve customers have been shutdown due to a dispute. This seems to be related to Evotel buying Crystal Web over.

So with the first 2 choices now a no go I am left with.

Cybersmart
Afrihost
Vodacom
Webafrica

Can any one comment on these? I don't want to go in and have issues

Thanks

Hey man,

Sorry to hear, I would recommend Cool ideas even though you have had a bad experience, I have had fibre through openserve with Afrihost and Webafrica and trust me stay away...

Cybersmart and Vodacom are even worse apparently.

@PBCool help a guy out here.

I can only comment on webafrica and say stay away.. personal experience and you only need to look at the webafrica thread here on the forum to know it's not a good idea..

I am with WebAfrica for almost 2 years now. 100 / 50 Mb 200 Gb capped. Never seen a drop in speed ever. Not a minute offline. Very happy with them. Moved premises and was installed on day requested.

Stay away from Afrihost..I Pay for a 100 meg but most times get about 60 to 70..just go with cool ideas..their owner is here and even.answers queries on a sunday..

Thanks Guys

Wanted to go with webafrica but I will hit their FUP in the first 15 days. Seems like I will go with Cybersmart.

Was with Axxess on Openserve for 2+ years. Would highly recommend them.

Can you PM me your account details and I can follow up on what's going on?

Yeah would not go the cybersmart route either...

Rather just go with Cool Ideas...

Okay PM sent. Like I have mentioned I submitted the application to cybersmart but if you can fast track my application so it does not sit for another week then I don't mind paying a little bit more and going with you guys

Ever since I moved to Cool Ideas, I have had constant issues. On my 2 router and after 3 weeks of logging a call for intermittent packet loss, kicked out of game lobbies, fluctuating speeds, only now are they handing it over to Metro fibre. Support takes forever to respond and seems incompetent. Im now dealing with PB, hoping he can rescue me before I jump ship. Honestly, never had issues with WA. Far more stable and predictable internet.

So PB sorted out the issues and openserve is currently at my place pulling in the Fibre. So going with cool ideas. Thanks @PBCool

I will post speed test results etc once the install is complete and I am live.
Awesome :)

Wow openserve brought in the Fibre within 3 hours and cool ideas activated the services in under 10 Minutes. I am so chaffed @PBCool you guys rock. Cool ideas are now number one in my books.
