Unsurprisingly, my OpenServe line is down.(that’s what I get for being cheap)

All of the ONT’s lights are on and green, I’ve also tried the guest@openserve account and it also doesn’t work.

I will give my ISP (Home connect) a call in the morning, but has anyone experienced anything similar?

Did you recently change ISPs?

My Openserve line (with Afrihost ISP) has been rock solid since it was first installed early December 2020.
Only went down once, and that was due to some vervet monkeys breaking the box on the pole, but they came out the very next morning to fix it and I was live again.

On the other hand, on our neighbourhood chat, you see countless complaints from people with Telkom ISP that their service goes down, yet mine stays up.

So I'd suppose it's something with your ISP, even more considering your ONT lights are on.

Same experience here, been rock solid since November last year - line speed all the time, no buffering (unless its DSTV because that's what DSTV does). Openserve is actually one of the most resilient networks (looking at you Frogfoot and Octotel).

Nope. I moved from Vuma to OpenServe a month ago, stayed with the same ISP.

I called Home Connect this morning and turns out that the router's L2TP settings were mysteriously wiped. Added it back and all is well.

We've been having a lot of power outages in my area which causes the internet connection to drop even though I have a UPS connected to the router and ONT, which usually requires a reboot or three - so not sure if that caused it. I never had this issue with Vuma, I've actually never had a single issue with Vuma tbh.

Anything to do with this?
I am not a geek
So not sure how this stuff works
