I will support the above when and if the SA music industry give us access to reasonably priced music services like itunes, napster etc. Until then I say download away and hurt them as much as possible until they wake up. BTW it is BS that we have to pay twice as much for a cd compared to first world countries.

Since you put it so politely, allow me to explain.

"We", are trying to get mamahowsyourfather to stop whining about a free beta service that he is so obviously abusing, and to get him to stop sending moronic messages to YOU!

"We", are not reporting anybody, however tempting it may be becoming.

I've tried asking around in a less conspicuous manner but I seem to be missing one important link in the chain here - how do I get the completed file onto my computer?

Damm Slow down guys! You are turning this topic on it's head!! Every now and again i visit this thread to see if Mr.beep has updated some info on the OpenTorrent service, when i am greeted by people moaning and, well from a distance almost killing one another, digitally!! lol

I am also running a torrent flux box for my self so i can download torrents from a remote location on to my box, I dunno if this is what MR.Beep is going to implement, but i can tell you there are some issues you must deal with before every thing is perfect!

Any way be cool “U HEAR!” ;)

It's madness, Musica charges R10 per song but iTunes charges R6.25. Obviously, the shipping of that digital music to South Africa is damn expensive. And each copy has to be individually wrapped up.

Boy does everyone love to rip us off.

I'm a big fan of the iTMS model of one price for all the songs. Wonder how long it will be before the record labels muck things up with that.

Same goes for their video content too. Downloaded a couple of shows already just to test things out and the quality isnt too bad at all. Next step is a video ipod though as I'm writing this I'm wondering about viewing it on my PSP.:confused:

Give them a little while. They already tried to strong arm Apple to increase prices.

Yahoo music is definitely the way they should do it. Everyone will subscribe (http://music.yahoo.com/) $5 per month for unlimited music. They should do the same with movies and TV series. Think about paying $50 per month for unlimited music, movies and tv series.

I still can't get my head around the UMD movies at R200 per pop. They should never be more expensive then DVD's. I must try the video on the internet some time but Telskum make that unreasonable.
