I was considering an OpenView box after my explora died after only 18 months, giving me the trigger to cancel my dstv subscription.
I reconnected my old TV aerials as an experiment, plugged in the ol' mast-head amp (that was in the house when we moved in 22 years ago!) and scanned for terrestrial channels on the TV. Lo and behold, we receive the sabc channels in hd (except for the new Encore channel). Etv is also in hd and there are some other E channels available. There are also many radio stations
Terrestrial TV is fine for me for news and background noise. Also, there is one less cheaply-made box to worry about now.
PS takealot have terrestrial set-to boxes for R350 each. Same box is available at the Chinese mall in Centurion for R300.
