OPENVIEW PVR - WITH NEXT PVR IN XBMC

Hi all, I am really struggling with this, even start doubting if it possible.

Ive been able to set up PVR in NextPVR with my normal antenna SABC etc. But now recently moved over to OpenView http://www.openviewhd.co.za/ , and for the love of sweet Mary i cannot seem to pick up any channels, was wondering if anyone has any experience with this i think the problem lies with OPENVIEW coming with its own (SETUP BOX). What i would love to do is to setup live TV with OPENVIEW, or even if possible to connect the dish straight to the tuner and set that up.

What i have.

Hauppauge 2200 http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hvr2200mc.html

Dish, LNB 10.6Ghz , and setup box all from OPENVIEW http://www.openviewhd.co.za/products/


Any help would be much appreciated. Ive tried many many things- but still no cigar

You can't connect the dish straight to the tuner,it's a dvb-t card not a satellite card.

Did you connect the ovhd box to the card with rca (composite)?.If yes,don't tune,you need to switch the card to av.
Also try connecting it with rf out (if the ovhd box has rf out),then tune your card to pick it up.

If nothing works,the ovhd box most likely has protection like macrovision on the video output.

A Tip.First try to get it to work outside xbmc,maybe with the card's software.

Yeah i tested its own application no luck there.
Though that much, when connecting rca its only single channel not exactly what im looking for. Can only record channel which im viewing :<

Was really hoping to for a beter quality of SA channels maybe i will have a look at the antenna setup see if i can increase quality. Thanks again

You won't be able to scan different channels by connecting a set top box.

You need a dvb-t2 card for dtt or dvb-s/2 card for satellite to get the transport stream in order to scan for different channels and epg.On dtt the sabc channels with others will be fta,on satellite (IS20) they use nagravision 2.

I don't know how XBMC's PVR capability is, but I know you were able to configure MythTV to change the channel on the DSTV unit. This involved calling a script that sent an infrared signal to change to the appropriate channel before starting to record.
