Hi

I've got an openweb account that has gone 1000% over cap, on 1GB prepaid (no openbrowse). Is this normal? I'm enjoying it at the moment, but just wondering if everyone has similar experiences?

Total Received(Mb): 9859.3
Totl Combined (Mb): 11781.74

You've probably given enough detail for them to figure out what account it is and cap it. :o

They cant charge him for going over his int. cap unless he's on one of those pay per meg things...

Ok, slow moment for me -> I cannot find the prepaid accounts on the openweb website

So I though I'd stop and ask for directions :o Anyone ?!

Openweb doesn't offer prepaid accounts. Try WebAfrica or Axxess.

Oh ok, the original post confused me :p

I've used about 140 gigs on a small cap local only account and 70 gigs of that was used on international. ISPs seem to be very generous these days :D

They know what we have to go thought ;) with telkom

How does this effect ISPs though? Let's say someone does 50GB on a 5GB OW SAIX account? I assume they have to front the cost of the bandwidth (in wholesale prices).

I think on SAIX accounts, the ISP will have to bear the bill of overusage! (whether they pass some of it on the customer, I suppose, depends on the terms and conditions of use the user agreed to when signing up)

AFAIK ISP's pay SAIX per GB used over all the accounts that they have...

EDIT: To the thread-starter, can you please clear this up -> You have a prepaid account from OpenWeb?

So, basically, exploiting your ISP's failure to cap you is like having sex with a woman that's unconcious? :)

Scary stuff!
