Hay guys, just made a new account on this site to just ask this question..

Im currently on telkom 4mb line and unhappy with there service, speed and just plain fed up with telkom not giving a sh*t bout their customers, so now i am looking to move to open web, to be more straight forward, i want this account

http://openweb.co.za/after_hours_uncapped.html

How will that 10mb line from open web be?? Remember i am a gamer, so i download updates, patches, music ect. 24/7 of my life....all i do on the net is download, and watch youtube videos and just surf around, but mostly online gaming....also, how will this 10mb line be if i want to broadcast my gameplay to twitch?? Because i heard people complaining bout this 10mb line only downloading at 5mb-6mb and not the full speed....

So all in all, how is downloads on this line?? Will it work to stream in twitch?? Will i get shaped even though i know they say 100% unshapped?? Will this line work on this router DSL 2750U D-LINK?? And also, will they come to Aliwal North in Eastern Cape to install this for me cause i want Openweb to be my ISP??

is this true or not?? if so, what other good isp are there that is not telkom or mweb as i also do torrent downloads and not wanting to be warned by my isp like mweb or slow downloads like telkom

Very true.

I would recommend afrihost if you are in KZN

How many GBs do you want to download a month?

That's the question.

there is no limit asto how many i want to download, but usualy its like 50gig or bit more if im lucky, also then, how wil afrihost 10mb line be then if i choose to go with them? will i regret it or not?? also would they come to install it for me then even though i live here?

Their reasoning is probably because your bandwidth/data/gigs comes from the East Coast IPC (KZN, EC, etc. and surrounds, I think) where Afrihost don't seem to have many problems.
Doesn't sound right to me...all the IPC exist points are in CPT and JHB afaik.

Lol dude. 50GBs is nothing. Almost any uncapped account will work fine.

Even MWEB's cheap 4meg account let's you do 110GBs.

yeah i cannot download more than that cause i get shaped at 30gig.....if i could i would download like 200gig or more....thats why i wana change ISP....so how will the 10mb afrihost be then for download speed?? and also will i be able to broadcast to twitch with no probs?

so guys, is the 10mb afrihost uncappde line worth it now or what?? how will streaming be with this line and how will torrent download speed and download speed overhaul be?

AH have 3. Telkom themselves have at another 2 "major" cities as well. Crystal Web uses IPC points in 5 different cities.

Who's your current ISP?

As for broadcasting Twitch that's a different matter. ADSL only has a 1Meg upload.

You won't be able to broadcast to Twitch on anything readily available and even remotely affordable in SA so give up on that idea from the start... Does your exchange even go up to 10meg by the way?
