OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Ok friends, I am off for a while.

I will leave you in the capable hands of cableguy.

I will be spending some well deserved time with the family :)

You have an email that requires your attention... :D

If two people were sharing the same account, you would not be getting full speed after hours either, because both users will try to use the connection. However, most users seem to be getting more or less full speed after hours most of the time, with one or two reporting problems of various kinds. PostmanPot, don't you think that negates conspiracy theories of account sharing?

Which means you suspect MrBeep has been lying and sharing accounts, no?

@Kido: How were your speeds after hours? You should have been able to get full speed. Please confirm?

Hi DJ

I will notify MrBEEP. Can you please PM me your email address so that I can call him with the details.

It's a business related query rather than a service one. Unrelated to my account, but more important from where I stand. Will PM you the email...

Please allow me to assist with your query.

Kindly PM me your ADSL username and OW number and I will investigate the matter for you.

I thought so...

Don't worry, MrBEEP will be back to answer.

I was not getting full speed period hence the investigation began

I am sorry to hear that you are not getting full speed on your account.

Kindly forward [email protected] an email so that we can look into this problem for you.

I must add, the network is currently quite busy due to the Microsoft and Apple updates, therefore shaping will be increased for a while.

I have asked the client to email us so that we can look into this.

However, the Microsoft and Apple updates will definitely play a part in the increased shaping seen.

Thanks, so you were not getting full speed after hours, which led you to investigating.

KALSTER?

I am sooooo glad to be rid of all this crap... all the round-and-round the garden, all the shaping and speed issues and new accounts etc.

We can presume from what the client has said that the slow speeds have been ongoing, not sudden. And, especially after hours, when most folks are unshaped.

Kido, is this correct?

Perhaps once you've confirmed, KALSTER would like to comment.

Please PM me or email [email protected] with details of your enquiry or issue.

I have requested that 'Kido' drop us a mail so that we can take a look at his slow speed problem.

If you follow the above proceedings, you will see that Kido received a new account when he asked for a password reset.

This will more than likely resolve slow speed problems, so I'm happy for him.

It doesn't answer a few things though, like why a new account when he merely asked for a new password.

Not to worry cableguy, I'll wait for MrBEEP to answer.

MrBEEP is on leave from today. I will be managing the forums in the meantime.

I have asked one of the technical guys for input:

Leon:

I see that an account with usage stats has been enabled for the client in question. Usage stats will be emailed to the client daily and should be available from the OW panel.

Slow speeds are because of Ms and Apple updates. Shaping is higher than normal. Should sort itself out by the weekend.

I do hope this answers your question.

Hi

Just my 2c

Change the account password.

That is all.

That is all.

The client does not want usage stats...

The client wanted a password reset.

Slow speeds have been ongoing which prompted investigation, not suddenly because of some apparent Apple/MS reason.

When investigating, two active sessions were found.

Are we on the same page here?
