OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Guys, we need your opinion.

Would a Live Support feature on the website be of any value?

Our concern is, if you cannot connect to the net, would it help having such a feature? Or would you simply access it via a mobile device?

Would you prefer to use Live Support opposed to calling someone for example?

Your feedback would be appreciated

This would be extremely helpful as when my net it down I usually use my backup 3G stick.

It would work for me as I could either dial into a backup account or use my phone as a hotspot.

This doesnt seem right.

Please PM me quick

I have a similar problem daytime downloads from steam have degraded to 10kbs - At this rate I might as well have a normal account with openweb and not pay the extra for the Gamers king...

Because I am not seeing any performance boost. It was my understanding that steam downloads would not be throttled

Any extra communication channels you make available to clients is for the better. It's a great thing for a client to be able to start a chat and be able to immediately get through to somebody, although you must be adequately staffed.

Live chat also doesn't have to cost the company anything in software costs either - you can still pick up an older version of LiveZilla (https://mordyt.com/2012/01/livezilla-how-to-download-v3-3-2-2/) which is excellent. We use this in conjunction with other chat software for our business.

Any extra support to solve the issue quicker is always welcome

I've never used live support(whenever available) and probably never will.

Although I'm not an Openweb user, I can tell you that wherever there's a live support option, I use it. I almost never deal with the Vodacom call centre now, I use the live chat feature on their website. No queues, no irritating music, no minutes or airtime wasted, just pure text.

Speeds R Nice 2Nite !

Glad it is for you, my current experience is terrible. Again. Was much better earlier today, then things took a nose dive. Again.

Speeds shaped to about 25% across all protocols. Again. Going to send another ticket. Again. Will try to blame Telkom. Again. Will be given new account details to try. Again. Speed will improve, temporarily. Again. Problem will recur in another 7-10 days. Again.

So so tedious, and I'm sure many will concur.

EDIT: Now speeds are down to 125KB/s, 1/8th of line speed. Pathetic.

Im in the same boat.... telkom atleast moved me to a new exchange due to over loaded exchange in wynberg.....which made a big improve. I use my backup account and a test account from telkom and speeds fly , gaming is good. Change back to openweb account and things slow....gaming sucks

As long as you don't do what WebAfrica does, which is have your consultants do telephonic support while they're busy with the live chat on the website. Still can't believe WA does something like that.

I would welcome something like this. Also look into Twitter support.

Anyone else been having issues with openweb and elder scrolls online. Very laggy and then disconnects and can't reconnect. Doesn't happen on the mweb account.

HI Guys

Thank you for the feedback.

Our Live Support will be trialed in the next short while :)

I think live chat will be cool only thing it may be overcrowded with all the complaining

Howzit gents.

So a mate has a 2MB line with Telkom and a Gold account with openweb. He noticed his account wasn't authenticating anymore and when he phoned openweb, they told him there weren't any problems. He then phoned Telkom and they told him they cut off his line because of abuse, because apparently he was congesting the exchange. I found this weird. Can a person with a 2MB line hog down an entire exchange by himself and can telkom cut his access because of it?
