OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

You're not the only one. My gold uncapped unshaped account has been on fire since I got it. Torrents and nzbs are also flying on my side, 24/7. Not to mention Steam downloads and HTTP...full speed all day, every day. Twitch has been pure bliss as well. But I suppose we need to keep quiet now before all the negative people start blaming us again for clogging up the pipes or that we work for OW :(

With my pitiful line stats, that should hardly be an issue. Out of a house of 7 avid interwebz users, we *only* do about 300 gigs per month.

StoneCold, I don't see why you people always go on like this. If you're having excellent service, then kudos! I'm happy for you.

The rest of us are not so lucky. I am on Gold Original, in other words supposedly the 'best' Gold package there is. Why am I then having a worse experience than you? I respect that your account is working flawlessly, but please don't try and diminish our issues because of it. 25kb/s on a torrent at 11PM is not normal.
 
I'm starting to think there's a general fault in the Cape Town area. I see from the WA thread as well that Cape Town people are having issues while people from other areas seem to have none.
 
Once you cancel your account with this circus, they start sending you spam SMS offering the first month free etc. There is no opt out option either :(
I would rather use dial up then ever sign up with these clowns again.
 
Do I seem to be the only one loving my gold account? Torrents and nzbs flying. All media downloads automated to go on at 2AM so that by the time I wake up, I already have everything.

It's been good! The posts here do concern me though.

A 2gb torrent I started yesterday evening still hasn't finished. Why is p2p shaped into the ground on Gold and why isn't cableguy here to clarify anything?

I didn't cancel and I got that bloody sms too. Guess they are trying to tell me something - "take your business elsewhere:whistle:

It feels as if you're being derogatory and unsympathetic towards people experiencing issues. If this is not the case, then I apologize. You're of course allowed to post whatever feedback you want, but there seems to be a group of people in this thread who seem to have no issues and frequently make posts that seem to be intended to put down all the 'whiners' and 'complainers.'

Hmm, I wasn't aware of this. Does it perform as advertised, though? I'm always very hesitant to contact Openweb with regards to receiving a new account, because I've often received accounts that perform terribly and then when I contact support they tell me there's nothing wrong with the account.
