OK, speed is important, but be sure you can get a fair amount through. I see you're in the Cape, which is experiencing some unresolved issues.

I'm trying to find an account which isn't so badly shaped, especially on a weekend. 290 on 2meg would be great if it isn't expensive. What's your account called?

It's one of the old legacy Gold accounts... think it was called Leon or Orange.
 
Lol just repeating what they posted on Facebook. I heard Afrihost has become worse than OpenWeb. By the looks of things, on Afrihost you now sit with OpenWeb day time speeds for 18 hours a day. Something like until 2 in the morning

I'm "upgrading" from my 2Mbps Gold account to the new Home Uncapped packages (4Mbps)
Will let you know how it goes as soon as my line & OW account gets refreshed/synced up.

Will be doing some extensive testing (NNTP/Steam/HTTP/YouTube) during the day, night, and of course during Download Heaven times starting 1st November.

Ok man, I'm not on a 4Mbps Telkom line yet, that should probably take 24-48 hours said the lady at Telkom.

BUT I'm already on the OpenWEB Home Uncapped Package and it's really impressing me so far. no jokes.
I don't know if it will perform like this a month down the line but my initial impression is it's solid man. :D

Once my line syncs to 4Mbps correctly I can tell you more, but for now all I can say is it's awesome - especially the ping! (17ms on speedtest. damn)
MyBroadband feels like...Instant, when you click a thread. I never had this speed before, and i'm still on a 2mbit line. I don't understand it? :wtf: lol

Why don't you ask them for a test account to try out? :)

Is that the shaped Openweb 2meg for R149 (uncapped but unshaped from 00:00 - 7am)?

Home Uncapped 4Mbps for R249 - but I'm running on a 2Mbps ADSL line until it refreshes to 4Mbps.
Account is performing exceptionally well, I honestly cannot believe the speed at which websites load (not even talking about bandwidth, talking about ping specifically)

Can't wait to see how it's gonna be when it's running on the actual 4Mbps circuit. :)



Edit: It's 12:20AM now and as you can see the account is seriously maxing my line on Usenet Downloads.

Wierd these account.

The uncapped is @mynetwork.co.za

and the capped is @openweb.adsl

Wonder why
 
Is OW's customer support still good like it used to be?

I would seriously consider moving back to them after all the crap I've had with other ISPs since, but unfortunately they don't have the product I'm looking for :(

I was/am thinking of doing the same, but was advised by email not to. They want me to pay R689 for the snazzy 4mb package. Please keep us updated.

im confused SAIX speedtest run fullspeed yet Steam Downloads are 60kb-140kb

Advice? 2mb line home uncappped
