Hi

I've been having trouble connecting to my OpenWeb account. Every time I try to connect I get "Error 678: The remote computer did not respond". I had emailed OpenWeb about the problem and they said my account works all right on their side and that it could be a line or router problem on my side. Since my Cybersmart and DataPro accounts are working fine, I'm wondering whether anyone has an idea of what could be the cause?

Oddly, this problem started soon after I had emailed OpenWeb and asked them to run a test on my line (been having desynch problems for ages).

I'd appreciate any help! :)

The radius server did not respond in time to authenticate. When this happens, only saix based accounts will authenticate as they have backup routes for their own accounts and resellers, although they apparently deny this. The proof is in testing like you did. It usually sorts itself out it time, depending on the technitons load.

Ah. So what do you suggest can I do? Do I need to wait until the problem goes away on its own? I've had this problem for about two weeks now.

That's a tough one as it could be an exchange issue. Is your exchange listed on the mybb bot page under adsl section for telkom issues ?

Well, I don't see my exchange on the list. However, with the desynch problem I mentioned Telkom said they were having problems with the Langenhoven Park exchange in Bloemfontein messing up my area's exchange as well and that they're working on it. Might this be the problem?

Kindly contact Telkom on 0800 375 375 to have your line and router tested. This can also be a fault with on of those. Ultimately, it means your request did not even reach us.
