Openweb Gold 4mb

I'd be more interested to know what news server / download performance is like on these accounts, seeing as it sucks so much on Mweb. Specifically after hours, from 7pm to 7am - have you have a chance to see?

I'll get myself a news server account over the weekend and test it during the week and let you know.

This is my experience:
4mb gold uncapped (on VB) since May 1.

total traffic: +\- 630 gigs

torrents: 115 down, 65 up (down is shaped 24/7 to 50kB/s with intermittent burst periods)

The rest is all http traffic which runs at full speed all the time. I don't use news/astra/RS so can't comment about that. I have not been affected by an outage at all this month or had any lengthy noticeable speed degradation.

Nothing at all.
I recently paid for next month so my account will continue into June without having to get new details - no debit order required, just paid in advance and asked nicely. This was my only email to Keoma this month, and he replied within 30 mins (as per usual).

it seems no better than mweb uncapped then. except for what marine1 says above.

And I wanted to jump ship to MWEB for the R300 cheaper service glad I DID NOT!

having been on Express+ for about a year, i can say that if you do somewhere between 200GB-300GB then MWeb is great. I never pushed Express+ nor Mweb so can't say where the sweet spot is between the accounts.

If I had to push downloads, I think I could do 600GB+
 
800GB a month? even with 1080p and games; does he actually use what he downloads?

i do a lot of 1080p downloads in my 300GB and I am in arrears with some. He must sit in front of his monitor/tv/lcd/plasma

can you ask him if he ever surfs? i ask as a matter of interest as it seems he must only use his line to download; and not actually use the internet.

edit: i have no issues if he only wants to download btw
 
Hi Marine1, i'm on Mweb 4Mb uncapped (canceled from 1st of june) and been on the market asked their accounts for a test account on Thursday night for Openweb 4Mb Gold account. Mr. Keoma was kind enough to provide me with one for two hours. Which a tested for about hour and a half 18.00-19.30 pm. Unfortunately did not convinced me that is better then Mweb and worth the 200 rand more. The speed of the torrents between two accounts (Mweb and Openweb) where identical around 25-30k. Tested three torrents with more than 1000 peers each. The same torrents on Telkom 420k 5Gb capped account. If you are going to use mainly torrents for your dl like i do i would stay away from this account. Did tracert as well and it was over Mweb network for sure. Something that Mr. Keoma confirmed as well. Hope this helps.

Nope he does not even browse. He actually asked me the other day what I do on the net. He basically loads up the downloads and leaves.
