So i Joined Open Web Gold a couple of days ago. I download a lot of torrents and to be honest the performance that i have experienced had been below par. After hours has been good, but during the day has been terrible!
For example today i have managed to download only 82mb.... at roughly 16kB/s average with the max speed being 32kB/s for a short period of time. For a "Gold" account i feel this is terrible. I have a 2mb uncapped account.

Has anyone else had these issues or have a solution to this?

Are you downloading torrents during the day or just normal usage? Torrents will be shaped during the day. If you want to download torrents at full throttle during the day you'll have to fork out for a unshaped account.

Got the gold leon edition account, i do realise that torrents are normally shaped during the day, my problem is the extent that the shaping is taking place.

You can contact their support and maybe they can do something about it but I doubt it. While being great accounts (the Gold), they are still shaped consumer accounts and trying to download torrents during business hours is just not going to fly. Rather schedule all your torrent downloads to happen after hours and you shouldn't have any issues.

Did it not occur to you that there is an entire OpenWeb thread to post in instead of making a new mini-me thread? That is where the Openwebbers hang out so you can get feedback from those who actually use Openweb along with feedback from Mr.B. Just saying...

If i remember correctly, 'Leon' is the entry level gold. If you want flying torrents during the day you will probably have to pay more.

Yep, I'm on a Leon 10Mbit - not had any issues.

Hi DarrenP,

Kindly drop me a PM with your ADSL username and I will take a look for you.

In the future, kindly come and visit us in our main feedback thread. We are very friendly, I promise.
