I have the 50Gb capped unshaped account, I've been paying R329 for years.

Just saw now that their website shows the 50Gb capped unshaped account is R185, their R329 package is 100Gb!
It's not a promotion or anything.

They also provision their unshaped accounts on shaped profiles, provision speeds lower than what they sell you, and have an identity crisis in their staffing. As well as some rather serious accusations that resulted in them running away from mybroadband, so don't expect any assistance from them on these forums at all. I hardly comment on other ISPs these days, but this bunch deserve the derision they get. I also used to hand over money that helped pay for Dr Keoma's Aston Martin...

How do you know this? I used Openweb capped unshaped accounts for a while and they were top notch. Full 10Mbps speed no matter what time of day or what data is it was usenet p2p..... I changed to crystalweb now and appart for being slighly more value for money in terms of daytime speed and abviouslly the best support the accounts seem pretty much exactly the same. Low latency full speed 24/7.

Openweb just does not offer a control panel but also offers uncapped after hours which is pretty decent.

There used to be someone from openweb on this forum all the time, what happened?

I'm canceling Openweb by the way, can't stand being treated like a fool.

Suggestions for an ISP? Or a trial account I can try? Thanks

Can get a CW trial account almost immediately, and 1Gig free for life from AH after ID verification.

Let me guess ... your account password is 1122?

Wow how did you know? I couldn't change the password way back then so I left it.

Over the years I've been getting speeds like 0.1mbps at certain times of the day on a 4mb line, they always said its Telkom and then Telkom tells me it's the ISP...

I assumed it's all Telkom and any ISP would give the same results so I stayed with Openweb.

If I remember correctly, you can sign up for a WA Capped 1+1 GB for free (www.webafrica.co.za)

WA Capped 1+1 GB for free is great, fast always working.

Watch out for the calendar month notice period. That's why I'll never use Openweb, Mweb or Webafrica. So dumb to make an unhappy customer pay for another month.

btw @ iSteve if you had your capped account for long you might not be on the same accounts as those. Maybe you should just email them and say they need to cancel and change you to that account.... I can assure you these accounts are pretty awesome compared to the old old offerings they had.

Openweb is only offering one type of capped account, my account can't be different to the ones they are currently offering. And I get unbearable slow speeds anyways.

Oh dear god, no wonder I couldn't change the password on the portal!
