Hi

I recently signed up for a 10gb local only openweb account and found that i can browse and download from international with no problems? Is this normal? Thanks in advance

Wow really O.o
That's pretty awesome thanks for the info. Does the same apply for the 30gb? Also will i be hard capped if i use up the 10gb or will i be billed for the extra bandwidth used?
Thanks again

We don't bill for extra bandwidth used :)

All capping is handled by IS, so if one of their accounts messes up, it's their problem, not yours.

Ah awesome, thank you all so much for the fast replies =D
Does all the same apply for the 30gb local adsl as well?

Im using Usenext, and its unbelievably slow on local accounts!

Normally its lightening quick. It seems most http downloads are coming down at the right speeds, but p2p and download servers are slow, anybody got any idea if they are aware of the problem? and if so when it will be fixed?

Its so frustrating :(

Surely if OpenWeb/IS know about this trick wherein you can use your local cap as international, they would have fixed it? To pay R139 for 30GB international (if you don't disconnect) is such a steal. Seems too good to be true. I know of lots of people that do it, surely the ISP will catch on eventually? Can someone explain to me the technicality of how, if you don't disconnect, you local is seen as international?
Thanks

Ip and DNS don't update so you are still on international. I think that's what is causing it cause its the only thing really.

IS has a solution to the problem. Where some users steal from them, they in turn pass that cost on to the regular users by throttling their accounts and providing a crap service overall.

That's my theory at least :P

Yes. IS shape int weekday so heavy I can barely use the internet

Its after hours now. And the hope that IS will speed up..... 120kbs on international torrents isn't too bad but its still not 400kbs as 4mb prescribed! I get well over 400kbs when downloading local!

I use the 30GB a month local with the Openbrowser and it is such a pleasure normally ....this last week the thing is so slow ...pages don't open properly and time outs are so common......

I have e-mailed MrBeep and no reply......

Its driving me nutz.......

P.S....can't even get into my Yahoo e-mail today.....
