OpenWeb - New account activation???

Just completed the online application for the 4mb/Gold/Uncapped - they gladly took my payment of R 7xx and now I have to wait to have my account activated during office hours?

Any suggestions, I received an activation SMS code, entered it on the client site and now it just shows activation pending?
 
Just came through via email, wish they would have given me a message to say be patient it will come...

Anyway, i have it now, took approx 20min.

haha so you mean that they should take it upon themselves to determine which new clients are so impatient that within 20 minutes of filling in the order form, they'll register a forum account and post a rant about the company's bad service?

please - 20 minutes for a new account is not only acceptable but actually very impressive.

fail thread and fail attitude.

have a look around and add something positive to the forum for this ghastly indiscretion. I guess this would be a good time to say "Welcome to myBB"

I would also panic if I payed that amount for it and nothing happened :d
 
Am I missing something?

Usually these things happen instantaneously with the likes of WebAfrica, Axxess and Afrihost.

I take it the OP must not have used a credit card. It would make sense then that the payment will have to be verified manually before the account will be activated.

Doesn't really take that much effort to add an extra line which says that your details would be mailed to you after you've completed the transaction, if that isn't there already.
 
This is indeed communicated to the client after signup in a welcome email (that contains the invoice) and online after payment. We do however strive to activate all accounts that require manual activation within the hour.

I paid with my credit card, payment was confirmed by my bank and OpenWeb immediately.

I then received an immediate SMS with a code to activate on the client area.

I did the activation, and then it said activated - however when it took me back to the client account screens it showed pending....

It then took 20min and it was activated.

All I would suggest they do is add a message after you enter your SMS activation code that full activation may take upto x min/hours/etc.... at least then you know.

I don't think 20min, or even an hour is unreasonable, if you know to expect it. but if it says activated and then takes more time it makes you worry.
