Hi all,
I have been using openweb for a few months now. I had a 2mb line and service, I was on their 2Mbps Gold Uncapped package. The line was never that great but it was okay most of the time. On the 5th of November the line was VERY slow (5-20k).
I called Openweb support on the 6th and was told they were busy and someone would call me back. I waited and waited. On the 7th I called Web Africa and they offered me a great deal and 2 free GB to get started right away. I started using them while I was waiting for Openweb to call me back. I called them again and was told to wait for a callback. I then tried to cancel my service with Openweb but got no reply.
I emailed [email protected] and started 3 new tickets during the following week and only got the automated replies and no call back.
2 weeks passed since I switched to Web africa. I still had no reply to any of my 3 tickets and no call. I called and threw a huge fuss and eventually I got called back, sadly I missed this call but a guy called Athol Wesselink emailed me and he helped get the openweb line running again. No apology at this time and all the staff I dealt with were rude or unhelpful. It seems that four calls and 3 tickets were totally ignored.
I would recommend that people are very careful about signing up with openweb as their service is very poor. I am so happy I called Web Africa, they were so helpful and their line seems to run far more consistently and faster than openwebs offering.
Goodbye Openweb, and good luck! (I suspect you will need it)
