OPENWEB SERVICE VERY BAD

Uhmm, with a 384kbps uncapped account you can expect to be limited to 40KB/s!

I don't know where you read that you'll get the full line speed (of say a 2Mbps ADSL line) with a 384kbps standard uncapped account. All that I saw was what was posted here: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadband/36126-uncapped-adsl-accounts-from-r149-per-month.html

The only uncapped accounts that were heavily limited during the day and then "full line speed" after hours was the Uncapped Express accounts from Axxess!

Strangly enough as we speak now on the Openweb Site they are adveritising the Vanilla 1 meg account for R179.00. I remember it was around R179.00 and they had a one day blitz. of R149.00.I do not expect 2 meg but at least 100 k/sec after hour all the time or when i need it.Or how can you explain that it sometimes runa at 100k/s if its a 384 account My line is only 2 meg and i have an uncapped 2 account from other isp's as per my post. I have been in the internet scene since the dayz of Infosat and am damn sure there is no way i could buy even a fully 24 hour 384 uncapped line from anybody >>>>>>>> I am very sorry that i did not keep any dope on the deasl offered because when i noticed the line speed was crap about 6 weeks ago i actually phoned openweb to find out how to cancel the account because of the crappy speed. The technician infact could not find the account and after 5 dayz i called back insisting they cancel this account. After the next week i called again and the tech guy asked me to try the line again but i still do not have an OPENWEB acount to even be able to view the goings on.

You can also change your font to more attractive options and alter the size!

You can rant as much as you want, but the fact of the matter is that you didn't do your research and you're currently on a 384kbps uncapped account.

If you want a fast, yet cheap Internet, then go for a capped account OR the HSDPA/3G specials from CellC/8ta.

Lycanthrope--------------Why put all those fancy options in the forum if we may or should not use them............. I fully agree with you on expect to get what you pay for but then they should not advertise it the way they do.Luckily as i have said i do have 2 other more robust accounts but thought this would be a nice account to have for if i wanna save my bigger accounts. Anyway i liked Openweb but for what its worth to the clever ouks out there and also to the stupid ones i just thought i'd voice my opinion.

Conclusion OPENWEB -10 for me and Afrihost or AXXESS + 100

If they did advertise it like that, then you can probably ask for a refund, because it is unethical to state such information when it is not true - especially after the CPA came into effect.

You seem to be the only one siding with me in a small way. If fact i remember it was browsing only during working hours and full line speed during the nights ( 7pm to 7 am) I have only had this account a few months and if i remember correctly it was around the long weekend of the end of May. i will however go into this and see when i made my first payment.

the account is even a bit strange " [email protected] " username

There is a big difference between "full speed" and "full line speed" as you probably already know.

The only thing that I'm against you is that you're making accusations without providing hard evidence that they mislead you or that the account is indeed not performing as it should.

I do want to thank you for at least testing other accounts and thus not making complete blind statements like many other people do here...

Just one further commment. My line has been upgraded at the beginning of October from a 1 meg to a 2 meg line.(part of Telkom Upgrage Campaign).

So why now at 06.30 in the morning is it running at 100 k/s . If it was a 384 account it should still be running at 30 k/s or (anders om) it should be running at 200 k/s. Good comment PADA (FULL SPEED or FULL LINE SPEED).????

Ill tell you why because Openweb sold it to me as a 100 meg account.Problem it only sees 100 meg for a few hours early in the morning.

It could be a Telkom fault, als had that after i upgraded to 2 meg
 
You guys are aware that this guy never even bothered to mail Openweb support about this issue, right? According to MrBeep when he mailed them they sorted him out within minutes.

WRONG

Wake up mister grandmaster if i may. Read back and you will see i complained to openweb and even struggled to get somebody to find where the account was at. If have just emailed them and it was sorted out because she the technician moved me to another account.
Troll my eye. i thought i was supposed to get some kind of support in here. Only person that showed some intention to listen was PADA. the rest seem to only know one word TROLL

there are many places to get help so if your vocabulary is stuck on one word tell me to stuff off. I dont care. Was just raising my concerns. Frankly i only care about mine. Not any of you TROLLLLS.

Jeez man i only asked for some constructive critism.......... If you cant contribute or at least gimme a decent response them keep quiet

You tell us you phoned, yet we don't know the second half of the telephonic conversation? How do we know you weren't submitting your information wrong to the guy on the phone or something like that? I think it's very unlikely that they couldn't 'find' your account.

Also, is there any particular reason why you haven't responded to the OpenWeb Uncapped Feedback thread yet? Ashamed because you got called out there, perhaps?
