HI Guys

I am going for openweb and open browse now 2 questions:-

1. Can I pay by direct deposit
2.Can I signup now and activate only for nov 1 .I got a WA account for OCT
3. CAn I get a test for openbrowse, a couple hours test.
4.Is it contract or month-month and what is the notice period/.

Thanks
Diddy

I'm thinking of signing up aswell, just a bit nervous about a few things...
There have been a lot of people trying to make a quick buck out of this 1 Nov thing...with that in mind...

1) How long has your company been registered and can i claim VaT back?
2) Can I administer the email addresses I get from you using a web page.
3) Do you offer spam and virus scanning on all your email addresses
4) Can I host a web page with you
5) I have seen the cost price on is adsl accounts and it seems that you make R5 or less per account and then still offer openbrowse...is this sustainable?
6) Does every computer using open browse have to be configured seperately??

Hey Diddy,

Thank you so much for your interest in our OpenWeb products.

1. You most certainly can :)
2. Most defenitely!
3. We offer 2 day test accounts. You can signup using this link: http://openweb.co.za/openweb/index.php/topic,264.0.html
4. No contract at all. Basically, month to month, and all you have to do is cancell at least 5 days before the end of the month.

Thanks alot

MrBeep,

How does the OpenBrowse work once youre capped? Do you manually have to enter proxy info into your brower once you reach the cap, or is it a seemless transition?

I manage the internet connection for myself and 3 friends sharing ADSL via a wireles router, and don't want to complicate things by manually changing setiings in everyones browser once capped.

OpenBROWSE packages: OpenBROWSE allows for international browsing, email and ftp after you reach your international cap. You will be able to browse whilst still in your local cap, which is 30Gig, minus your international cap. Unfortunately, there will be NO Downloads permitted.

So am I correct in saying that with OpenBROWSE you WILL be able to download files from international sites (via both http and ftp) after you have used up your 3GB cap? and you can then download a further 27GB of files from international sites?

ahhh...its says "NO Downloads" so no...it means no http or ftp downloads its not referring to ptp it reffering to blocks implemented at the proxy

it's as clear as mud to me -- does "NO Downloads" no apply to surfing while in the local CAP without OpenBrowser ?? Why does it say you have FTP access if you can't download files? Why on earth would anyone need 30GB if you can't download files - I'll be amazed if anyone can generate near 30GB from just web browsing in one month (ok, unless you have a whole office connected or something, but im interested in home users)

There's a lot of stuff you can download locally with 30GB.

Mr. Beep will you offer any news server access?

Its so you can still browse int sites after you IS int runs out...I'm open to correction here but I'm fairly sure about that

How do we actually sign up and make payment? An online sign up?

so, where it says "OpenBROWSE allows for international browsing, email and ftp" - do I take that to mean that you can Browse international after your cap - but only donwload local (up to 27GB)?? (what about email is that international - like will I be able to get to gmail on there secure POP/SMTP ports??)

i dont know...MrBeep really needs to answer that kinda stuff...or take a look on their page...there may be more there

I also like to know what the ratio is per 128K

I take it they have a 128K diginet line ....

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the delayed replies, but I am having a hectinc day...lol

Signups can be done through this form: http://www.openg.co.za/openweb/signup.asp

Unfortunately, OpenBROWSE only allows international browsing and email. Limited FTP is allowed. This will be allowed upon request, and has to be approved by OpenWeb.

You get FULL access to IS's massive News Server. It is far superior to that of SAIX, and has ALOT of newsgroups for your pleasure.

I will be able to answer more questions a little later. I have a meeting with another network provider now, so I have to run.....it might be good news for us all.

Ok MrBeep

browsing and email is cool, what about http downloads.

FTP: You mean no FTP downloads, what about simple stuffs like uploading site information to international web host.

Thanks
Diddy

MrBeep when you get a chance after your meetings
please can you shed some light on these...
