just starting downloading nVidia driver ... and it is a constant 20k ... very nice .. I could get used to this :) ... good work openweb .... this is definitely a handy feature .... how do you plan on packaging/selling it though??

No.

Only normal web browser downloads are being trialed.
Hi Beeps

What if people find a way of running their torrents through port 80? Wouldn't that be abusive in some way and would Openweb be able to distinguish between the two?

Good point.

Yes, we will defenitely implement filtering mechanisms to sniff out the torrent and p2p packets.

We are not sure yet how we will package the Download version of OpenBrowse. However, if this test proves successfull, and we can formulate an affordable product, we will defenitely launch it commercially.

Most importantly now is:

1. Does our infrastructure support downloads?
2. Are the downloads affecting the speed of the service?

Could you provide some more information on openbrowse? I went over to your website and could not find anything that describes it. I did find the pricelist though :)

Just a suggestion. You may want to offer this solution to people with other ISP IS accounts. You could find some people who are happy with their ISP but need something extra from time to time. It does not apply to me as I have a SAIX based account.

e.g.

OpenWeb OpenBrowse 2GB/192/30GB R219
OpenWeb IS 2GB/30GB R159
OpenWeb OpenBrowse 192K AddOn R70

This may sell nicely if you had downloads as well.

Cheers

Hey Abe

That is a very good idea!

I will look into it.

Kind regards

Hmm, at this rate, some people might be quite happy with Openbrowse being their only package.

I wouldn't mind Openbrowse as an add-on, especially if it works with MSN.

*wizard voice* RIIIZZZZZEE departed thread!

hmmmm, whatever became of this?

What is with openbrowse? Does it work? Downloads? Does msn actually work on it?

Can you get a local-only account with openbrowse?

hey there, yes, you can get openbrowse with local only accounts, the download with openbrowse was on trial, but dont know what happened to it, no further answers, sorry

ugh i closed the window for the other one, but does msn for tranfering files work better thru it or is it just for txt chat?

*pokes MrBEEP wiff a wet celery stick in the ear*

was this discarded as an option?
