Getting very high latency on wow atm (1200-6900). Download speeds also go up to 20kbs and then drops to between 2 and 8. Sent a mail but am still waiting for a reply.

EDIT: Looks better now on the latency side. Download speed is still slow

MrBeep sorted me out , everything running smooth again! If only all companies had this level of customer service.
 
Normally he repies very quickly but I sent a mail 13:42 and still haven't gotten a reply :(

I got an Openweb uncapped Gold account a couple of days ago. What speed are you supposed to get from P2P after hours. I have a 384k line and account and I get max 100kb/s. With another cheaper uncapped account from a different ISP I get full line speed after midnight. Aren’t the Gold account supposed to be better ?

What speed do you get on HTTP and non P2P protocols on the cheap account during the day? I am sure you are pretty throttled to death. Gold gives you an equal, and improved experience all day.

So as I understand it the Gold account is better to be used for web browsing and not for downloading ?
 
One has a nice and equal downloading speed on it as well. Your cheap account more than likely does not allow you to do much at this time of the day, where Gold does.
 
So what do people use the gold account for. How much can I download in a month before it is considered abuse.?

I am on the IS backbone at the moment and I battle to get full line speed anytime day/night on news servers. I may get close to it between 3 and 4 in the morning, but that is it. Is all in order on the IS backbone? My usage has dropped off quite substantially from December and January.
 
viper, I have the 384 uncapped gold and I get full line speed day and night. I use it mostly for downloading from news servers, some gaming and everything else.
 
So the 384K shaped Gold account you get good http speed day and night and good speed at night for news server. But it does not seem to play nice with torrents.

I used to get linespeed with it on both torrents and news servers.....
 
What is the SMTP server to use with the Gold account? My user name is [email protected]


Edit: I found it. It is smtp.vbmail.co.za
